Macor is an excellent technical ceramic with good machinability, which can be processed using only ordinary CNC milling cutters. Macror has a high operating temperature (from 800 ° C continuous to 1000 ° C peak). It has low thermal conductivity and is a useful high-temperature insulator as well as an excellent electrical insulator. Macor has no pores and will not release air when baked properly. It is sturdy and hard, unlike high-temperature plastics, and will not creep or deform. Macor also has radiation resistance.
